Armenian National Committee of America - Western Region

The Armenian National Committee of America - Western Region is a grassroots public affairs organization devoted to the promotion of the national aspirations of the Armenian-American community. For more than eight decades, the ANCA - WR has served to inform, educate, and act on a wide range of issues concerning Armenian-Americans throughout the Western United States.

With its Western Regional headquarters based in Los Angeles, the ANCA - WR enjoys broad-based community support and participation through a network of cultural, educational, athletic, charitable, and youth organizations. In addition, the ANCA - WR is tied to a variety of media, including several of the leading Armenian newspapers in America, and the largest Armenian daily in the United States - Asbarez - and the Horizon television network.

With chapters across the United States in cooperation with its central office in Washington, D.C., as well as, affiliate offices ranging from Boston, to Armenia, Europe, Moscow, the Middle East, Australia, and South America, the ANCA - WR office has worked tirelessly to defend interests dear to Armenians in the Diaspora and specifically the Armenian American community. Whether the focus is the drive for recognition and commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, fighting for legislation in Congress to strengthen and support the Republic of Armenia, advocating the right of self-determination for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, or working on a local election help a supportive politician, the ANCA - WR has been a vital force in promoting the interests of the Armenian people.

As a grassroots organization, the ANCA - WR enjoys the benefits of maintaining constant contact with the pulse of the Armenian American community.

The Armenian Question today remains a complex one, full of opportunities, yet demanding a vigilant brand of political activism. The ANCA - WR has stood prepared in the past and looks to the future, to engage the American political process and seek to advocate those central issues that strike at the very essence of the Armenian American experience.

With a record of achievement dating back to the earliest communities in the United States, the ANCA - WR and its network of local, regional, national and international affiliates forge ahead embracing political processes to arrive at the stated goals of the Armenian nation, all the while remaining focus on the strengthening of the Armenian Homeland and the Diaspora.
